Seminar Objectives:
Upon completion of the seminar, interior designers will possess a comprehensive understanding of the significance and emphasis of healthcare design in clinical settings, medical centers, and hospitals. This knowledge can be extended to workspace and residential design to enhance the overall well-being of clients.

Nicholas Merrow-Smith
Principal of Merrowsmith Design Partnership
Nicholas is among several designers who have decided to call Singapore their home. After training and working in commercial interior design in the United Kingdom, Nicholas relocated to Singapore in 1993. He is currently the Principal of Merrowsmith Design Partnership, which he established in 2015.
Nicholas has gained recognition in the architectural community for his advocacy of design as a catalyst for behavioral change. His recent work on healthcare transformation and patient advocacy has provided opportunities to broaden the reach of design as an enabler to a wider audience. Throughout his extensive portfolio, Nicholas has demonstrated a willingness to take a leadership role in design and stakeholder management to deliver sustainable solutions.
Over his 30-year career, he has held a number of key industry posts, including the Presidency of the Interior Design Confederation Singapore. He was also the chair of the successful conference “Design Value: Beyond the Tangible” in 2009.
Nicholas remains committed to research and development, with a focus on improving workplace environments, patient care, and customer service. His solutions prioritize enhancing communication, safety, and promoting organizational change through exceptional experiences.
With a Master’s Degree in Design from the United Kingdom and a fellowship at the Society of Interior Designers (Singapore), Nicholas is also a member of Corenet Global, Singapore Chapter.
